The BAU does exist in real life. Although this is true, some aspects of the show are not correct. It has been confirmeed from real behavorial analysts most of the show's representation of the real agents is vlose to correct.
One main thing that the show gets wrong is that they don't use the word profiler. Instead, they call themselves behavorial analysts. They use their knowlege of human behavior to catch serial killers.
